The occurrence of heartburn under influence of GERD a very common disease

The characteristics of the chest pain are marked by its quite often originating from the chest and spreading to other regions of neck and throat. The heartburn  is signified by presence of chest pain accompanied by burning sensation felt either below or behind the breastbone and there is no cardiac involvement.
 
Considering the causes of heartburn, which almost all people at one time or another are prone to suffer. There is quite likelihood of the presence of the disease called GERD the abbreviation used for gastro-esophageal reflux disease.
 
In the normal circumstances at the time of food or fluid gets in to the stomach, the sphincter present at the lower end of esophagus shuts of the connection between esophagus and stomach.
 
There could be circumstances when this sphincter fails to shut tightly the esophagus opening into stomach, the stomach food and acid mixed contents flow back in the esophagus, producing irritation of varying nature, the severe form of which is heartburn along with associated symptoms.
