The use of butcher’s broom is not a new one and it has been around for a long time now. The first instances of its use was back in the medieval times when butchers used it to disinfect and clean their chopping blocks. The same was later on found to be handy with hemorrhoids because of a vital ingredient in the plant anatomy called reuscogen that can reduce inflammation and constrict blood vessels returning it to its normal condition quite fast.
This property of butcher’s broom makes it a good addition to hemorrhoids treatment and when it is taken orally as a tea with some honey or applied externally to the hemorrhoids outside the anus, the pain and swollen nature of the condition sees a gradual decrease with time. However, this is not advisable for patients who are suffering from high blood pressure, BPH, taking MAO inhibitor drugs or about to deliver a baby.
